Glen Havenga M.A., C.Psych.
At Haven Psychological Services I provide psychoeducational assessment services to children, adolescents and adults to clarify their strengths and needs related to learning and everyday functioning. I also provide psychotherapy to adults and adolescents to guide them through a process of self-discovery to gain insight into their psychological functioning.
(Children, Adolescents and Adults)
Through psychoeducational assessment I determine a student's strengths and needs in terms of their cognitive and academic functioning and provide recommendations and decision making strategies.
Having worked directly with various school boards, my reports address and meet the requirements school boards have for developing an Individual Education Plan (IEP) including making accommodations and/or modifications and providing supports and tools if required.
I was previously employed by the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) in London Ontario where I conducted assessments for learning difficulties, intellectual disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and executive functioning issues, giftedness and behavior and emotional concerns. I have also provided similar consultative educational assessments to students in the Avon-Maitland District School Board, the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board, and with children and adolescents in a private practice.
(Adolescents and Adults)
Throughout my career I have supported therapy clients with difficulties including anxiety, depression, anger, personal or workplace stress, post-traumatic stress disorder, sexual, physical and/or emotional abuse, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, personality disorders, interpersonal difficulties and conflict (including marriage/relationship difficulties) and many more mental health issues.
