Frequently asked questions

Here, we have compiled answers to some frequently asked questions to assist you in navigating our services effectively. Our goal is to provide you with clear and accurate information to enhance your experience. Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

  • Do you need a referral from a doctor/school?
    No referral is needed.
  • Do we directly bill insurance?
    No, we do not directly bill insurance. We provide receipts that you can submit for reimbursement. Many extended health plans cover therapy and psychoeducational assessment with a psychologist.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    You may pay in cash, via ETF or with visa/master/debit or American Express credit cards.
  • How much does a psychoeducational assessment cost?
    $3,120 for a full psychoeducational assessment ($1,320 - $2,040 for Giftedness/Intellectual Developmental Disability Assessment alone) .
  • Can the psychoeducational assessment report be used to develop an IEP?
    Yes, the psychoeducational assessment report be used to develop an IEP. Assessments are completed by a registered psychologist and are recognized by schools, post-secondary institutions, and others.
  • What client age groups do we assess?
    Children and Adults ages 7 to 70.
  • What conditions do we assess for with a psychoeducational assessment?
    ADHD, learning disabilities, giftedness, intellectual or developmental concerns, and needs for academic accommodations.
  • What does a psychoeducational assessment entail?
    The process includes an initial interview (up to 1h), 6 hours of testing split over 2 mornings, scoring and analysis, a feedback session (up to 1.5h), and a comprehensive written report.
  • How much does therapy cost?
    $240 for individual therapy ($265 for couples) per 50-minute session.
  • How many therapy sessions will I need? 
    The number of therapy sessions required depends on the reason for the therapy. However, initially, for a typical referral (e.g., anxiety, depression, stress, OCD, anger management), approximately six to twelve weekly sessions are required followed by biweekly sessions, as appropriate. The time frame for therapy is usually six to twelve months. The frequency of visits may vary based on individual needs and financial resources. The preferred frequency can be adjusted accordingly. During the initial consultation, specific goals for treatment will be established, along with an agreed-upon frequency for visits. Goals, duration, and frequency of psychological treatment will be reassessed as necessary.
  • What client age groups do we see for therapy?
    Adults aged 18 to 70.
